Acoustic Transducers to Prevent Shark Attacks of Surfers
Lately we have been seeing increased shark attacks in our nation’s beach areas. Some have speculated that the warmer waters are too blame, some say it is because we are over fishing and the sharks are following their fish food supply brought in by tropical storms and Hurricanes. Others believe these occurrences are rare and coincidental. Never the less they are occurring and when sharks bite humans it becomes a news worthy event, much like “Man Bites Dog.”
Since we now have acoustic transducers to corral fish for fish farming we can use this technology to keep sharks away from popular beaches and tourists. If we fail to do this we could see some tourist beach areas hurt and looking at economic hardship. Think of the acoustic transducer as a Virtual Electrified Fence (VEF), which is so bothersome to the shark that it stays far away and wants no part of it.
I propose to have four beams starting at a pier facing inland one electromagnetic wave fans out on each side to move the sharks if any out to the open sea. Then the second wave moves any which were caught behind the first wave. The first wave is then turned off as the second wave approaches the end of the range. Then the first wave is set behind the second wave to create a wide barrier, which will turn them away. The Acoustic Fence will protect the surfers from the oceans fiercest predators.
This VEF system can be set up and automatically turn on at first light and then turn off at dark. The fish which the sharks like to eat will also be corralled away from shore and there will be no reason for the shark to want to even get close to the dangling legs of surfers waiting for the ninth wave in the ninth set or a swimmer which is horizontal or vertically treading water resembling a seal or other potential edible meal. Just when you thought it was okay to go back into the water, well now you really can? Think on this.
